NEW DELHI : India signalled on Friday it was open to a new round of talks with Pakistan, raising fresh hopes of a thaw in relations after last month’s official dialogue between the nuclear-armed rivals produced no breakthrough.

The two nations’ top diplomats — their foreign secretaries — met in New Delhi for their first official talks since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, but just agreed to “keep in touch” without mentioning if there would be another round of talks.

What followed the meeting was a bout of acrimonious exchanges between the two sides over what the focus of the dialogue was — India on terrorism, Pakistan on the disputed region of Kashmir — worsening the atmosphere for any future talks.

“We tried to make a beginning with the foreign secretary talks, but nothing came out of it am afraid,” India’s Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram told a conference in New Delhi.

“But I am told we are still open to another round of talks between the foreign secretaries.”

The curator of Fort Ticonderoga briefed them about the paranormal activities reported at the old Fort which has housed many bloody fights. He told the members of Atlantic Paranormal Society that footsteps are heard often heard and images of soldiers are seen in windows. After hearing the account TAPS team sets its equipment and sits in to witness any paranormal activity. Soon they report hearing footsteps from the upper floor but they found nobody upstairs. Next they investigated the top floor where people had reported images of a soldier in the window. They couldn’t catch the glimpses of the soldier for the viewers but reported that a room had lighted up automatically. The light was in the room was witnessed by the other team members who were in another building. The Viewers were bored because none of the cameras had caught the lightening scene.

Two team members investigated the grounds of Fort Ticonderoga where hundreds of soldiers were reported to be buried in a single grave. Women Reservation Bill: latest news about , Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today defended her party’s decision to abstain from voting on the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Rajya Sabha, but said she was in favour of the Constitutional amendment.
“Our party is committed to the Bill. We will do it,” she told reporters outside Parliament.

But at the same time, she was critical of the “communication gap” before the Bill was put to vote in Rajya Sabha yesterday. “In Rajya Sabha, we have two members. We were not informed… There was communication gap,” she said.

She said during the meeting of allies with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, it was decided to call for an all-party meeting (on the Bill), where her party could also raise the issue of including minorities in women’s reservation.

“But no (all party) meeting was called later. We had no information,” Mamata said.

When pointed that Left was taking all the credit for the successful passage of the Bill in the Upper House, she said Left never wanted quota for women in the Rajya Sabha as it was against letting common women enter the Upper House.

“They only want their cadre to enter the Rajya Sabha. They do not want common women to enter the Upper House,” Mamata said.

She also said her party has repeatedly asked quota for women in Rajya Sabha.

NEW DELHI: Holding that India lay great store in right to life, the Supreme Court on Monday ordered the government to immediately release 16 Pakistani prisoners who had completed their jail terms despite the Centre’s argument that it was waiting for Islamabad to let off a similar number of Indian prisoners.

Commenting adversely on the UPA government’s decision to put on hold the release of 16 Pakistanis even though they had completed their prison term in various state jails, a Bench comprising Justices Markandey Katju and R M Lodha said right to life had primacy in a country governed by rule of law and was not dependent on another country’s action.

It refused to accept the Centre’s stand that exchange of prisoners was a diplomatic process that required cooperation at both ends.

“Under the Constitution, detention even for a second beyond the permitted period of sentence is illegal. Now you (Centre) are putting a condition that until they return a similar number of prisoners we cannot send them back. If Pakistan does not do something right, does that mean we should also follow them,” the Bench said.

A petition filed by J&K Panthers Party chief Bhim Singh and advocate B S Billowriya had alleged that over 30 Pakistanis were illegally detained in prisons in Agra, Jodhpur, Naini, Sangrur, Varanasi and Tihar despite completion of their sentences.

The 16 persons ordered to be released on Monday are Mohammad Ajmal, Mehrban Sathi, Mohammad Nawaz, Sajad Ali Jat, Shabir Ahmed, Shahzad Gul, Shahid Mehmood, Qudrat Ullah, Mohammad Farooq Raja, Dawood Ahmed Mughal, Faiz Ali, Mohammad Usman Shiksh, Zarar Baloch, Shahid Latief, Suhail Ahmed Kataria and Sher Khan. They have already been provided travel documents by Pakistan.

Petitioner Bhim Singh also requested the Bench to order expeditious completion of trial of the rest of the Pakistani prisoners even as the Centre informed the court that it had extended consular access to Pakistani high commission officials for establishing the identity of the prisoners.

It invited a strong rebuke from Justice Katju, who said, “It’s easy to say complete trial within one year but you must understand our problem. In India there is great shortage of judges. We are performing under great pressure.”

Switching to Hindi to drive home the point, Justice Katju said, “Koi jaadu ki chhadi hai hamare paas jo ek saal mein case sune (Do we have a magic wand to dispose of cases in a year).”

The Centre also informed the court that “a consular access programme was being finalised in consultation with the external affairs ministry and the Pakistani high commission to provide consular access to five Pakistani prisoners, including `security and high security’ prisoners who have completed their sentence”.

These five prisoners are Mohammad Abdullah aka Abu Murad, Mohammad Aslam Mughal aka Zahoor Ahmed, Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh aka Umer, Liaquat Ali Khan aka Mehboob Ali and Abdul Qadeer Khawaja.

British actress Helena Bonham Carter has received an apology from a newspaper, which had made an “unfounded” comment about the way she set-up home with partner Tim Burton.

In an article published in The Independent on February 27 titled “One big happy family three separate houses”, writer Amy Jenkins claimed the actress lived in a separate house next door to long-term partner Burton.

And that their two children and the nanny live in a “third house in the same street”.

Jenkins went on to describe the situation as “chilling”.

Bosses at the newspaper have now issued an apology to the star for the incorrect information, clarifying the couple’s home set-up with an excerpt in the publication on March 6.

“In fact the house which the children and the nanny live in is next door to the parents’ houses and the three houses are interconnected,” the Daily Star quoted the statement from the paper as stating.

“In fact the entire family live together in a single home that is fashioned from three adjacent former artist’s studios,” it stated.

The paper then issued an apology to Bonham Carter.

“The comment that this arrangement is ‘not so much eccentric as chilling’, is unfounded and we accept that Helena Bonham Carter is a caring mother and apologise to her for suggesting otherwise,” it added.

Some teachers are still healthy enough in their mid 6os and 70s to still teach the original technique.

Today, the few remaining teachers have passed their secrets to others, who have put the courses online for you to study. Later on “Tufts University” was attended by him in Medford, Massachusetts. Normally he presented himself in comedic roles but his initial appearance was playing a role of nervous airman in the film “Fail-Safe” which

also explains his talent. He gave a performance in “The Entertainers” which was a television show and on aired in 1964. It was also known as his first performance being an actor.

Dom DeLuise gave several performances with Burt Reynolds in 1970s and 1980s like “All Dogs Go to Heaven”, “The End”, “Smokey and the Bandit II”, “Cannonball Run II”, “Cannonball Run” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”. He died in Santa Monica, California at Saint John’s Health Center on 4th of May 2009. Kidney failure was the main reason of his death and at the time of his death, he was hospitalized for his treatment.

The marriage of this couple continued for the next sixty years till the time of Lloyd Bridges’s death who died at the age of 85 in 1998.

Later on after marriage, Dorothy Bridges and Lloyd Bridges decided to shift to New York City in persuasion of studies in the field of acting and to start their acting career. They got acting classes from Michael Chekhov. Later on in the 1940s, the couple decided to move back to Hollywood when a contract was signed by Lloyd Bridges with Columbia Pictures.

Dorothy Bridges died at the age of 93 due to the age related causes. She died on 16th of February 2009 in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles.

Rock band Silbermond and hip-hop artist Jan Delay were also honoured at the German Phonographic Academy’s ceremony, while reggae/rap artist Peter Fox landed the coveted Best Album award for Stadtaffe.

Glamour model Kendra Wilkinson has opened up about her battle with depression after she gave birth to her baby Hank Jr.

Wilkinson, 24, revealed she battled postpartum depression after giving birth, and that is was very hard to adjust to motherhood.

“After giving birth, I never brushed my hair, my teeth, or took a shower. I looked in the mirror one day and was really depressed,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as telling Ok! magazine.

“I thought, ‘Look at me. I had this glamorous life in L.A., and now (in Indianapolis) I didn’t’.

“A couple of times, I even said, ‘I just have nothing to live for’,” she added.

Lady Gaga’s Brit fans will get to witness the singer performing three new concerts for the UK leg of her Monster Ball tour, but the steep rise in tickets prices has raised some concerns.

Gaga kicked off the tour in Manchester last month, when tickets were priced between 27.50 and 35pounds.

However, tickets for the new gigs, organised by a different promoter, cost between 50 and 75pounds.

Some fans have expressed their concerns over ticket prices on the singer’s website.

“Will we be getting a brand new show when the tour comes back to the UK in May? Or will the show be the same and fans will be expected to pay £75 for a show that only cost them £27 to see months earlier?,” the BBC quoted Ric Dickinson, as writing.

Another fan, using the name Barley 142007, said: “I was sure the price will go up but this is steep!!!!”

The shows at Sheffield and Nottingham were postponed earlier this week and will now form part of the Poker Face singer’s second outing.

Taking about these dates, Dickinson said: “I will gladly pay the extra if we are promised something extra, however surely it would be a case for trading standards, especially as the rescheduled shows will get to see a show that everyone else will get to see after paying three times as much.”

He said: “What was a small arena/theatre production is now a massive, first rate arena production.

“Ticket prices for the previous dates were set long before the current Monster Ball show was developed. Ticket prices are comparable and fair.”

According to the Live Nation website, the tour has been extended due to “overwhelming response”. Tickets will be available from March 12.

Gaga will now croon at Birmingham, London and Manchester in May and June. She will perform at the same venues she has visited on the current leg of her tour.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actress will give her testimony against Marek Daniluk, a 6ft 6in Pole, at his trial, magistrates heard yesterday.

According to reports, Daniluk, 4, grabbed Knightley, 24, outside the Comedy Theatre in London, where she is starring in ‘The Misanthrope’.

He is also accused of sending her unwanted gifts and letters, reports The Daily Express.

However, he denies “conduct that amounted to the harassment of Keira Knightley”.

Daniluk, of Palmers Green, north London, was bailed until June on condition he does not go near Knightley or the Comedy Theatre.
